International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood (ISAAC)
As part of this international study, the Saccomanno Research Institute is working with Mesa County School District 51 in the early recognition and management of asthma-like symptoms in young students. Early identification and management could lead to milder cases of asthma and may prevent permanent lung damage. The current goal is to gather baseline information about the prevalence of asthma symptoms in children in Mesa County. To date, 473 children from 15 local schools have participated.
