Commission on Cancer recognizes St. Mary’s patient care
Cancer care is one of those things most people don’t think about much—until they or someone close to them needs it. And that’s okay, because the people of St. Mary’s Regional Cancer Center think of nothing else. .
“Our doctors and staff, the technology we have available to diagnose and treat, and the cancer research we’re involved in, everything we do is about the best way to take care of our patients,” says Diana Morneault, director of St. Mary’s Regional Cancer Center. .
In late September the Commission on Cancer (CoC)recognized the work of St. Mary’s certified oncologists, oncology nurses, radiation therapists, physicists, pharmacists, genetic counselor, and support programs staff by continuing the center’s accreditation as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. “When your focus is on doing the best for each patient and their family, you have a quality-driven cancer center,” Morneault says.
CoC accreditation assures the community that their cancer center provides state-of-the-art evaluation, treatment and follow-up care and is constantly improving that care through ongoing education and research. .
