City Council approves Master Plan for Century Project
A milestone for St. Mary’s Hospital’s Century Project was achieved on November 15 with the Grand Junction City Council’s approval of the hospital’s Master Plan. The Century Project will include a new 440,000 square foot, 12-story addition to be located between the existing hospital and the recently completed parking garage. In addition, about 120,000 square feet of existing space will be remodeled.
The Century Project is a result of the hospital’s continual planning process to meet the healthcare needs of our community. St. Mary’s has been a leader in working with the city on master planning that carefully accounts for the impacts of facility growth plans on neighbors, traffic, and pedestrians.
For 110 years, the community, patients, and physicians have looked to St. Mary’s to meet the needs of a growing population, to provide the latest technologies, and to improve the patient care environment. Commenting on the city’s approval, St. Mary’s President and CEO Bob Ladenburger said, “We are very pleased with the city’s approval and excited to be taking on the challenge of building for the next century of healthcare.”
