St. Mary’s believes physical, developmental, or behavioral challenges shouldn’t keep any child from learning, playing, and enjoying being a kid.
St. Mary’s outpatient pediatric therapy staff works with infants, children, and young adults to age 21 who face special challenges. “Therapy services start with a referral from the child’s doctor, followed by a complete assessment by our professional staff,” says physical therapist Lisa Thiessen. “Each therapy plan is designed to meet the specific needs of the child and his or her family.”
Whether St. Mary’s clients have physical, developmental, emotional, or communication needs the ultimate goal is the same Thiessen says, “to develop his or her full potential, to help every child achieve their personal best.” Care is delivered by a team of experienced professionals to be sure each child has access to all appropriate services at St. Mary’s and community resources.
“It’s very exciting to see the child’s progress and how that progress affects the whole family,” Thiessen says. “St. Mary’s therapy services can help your child in school, at play, and in relationships with others.”
