St. Mary’s associates get real with United Way donations
No one wants to be the biggest loser in the amazing race to support our Mesa County neighbors. All of us—whether a big brother, bachelor, bachelorette, or real housewife—want to be survivors and live the simple life. A contribution to the United Way of Mesa County helps take the fear factor out of life, real or surreal.
When it comes to contributing to United Way, St. Mary’s associates are hardly apprentices. The Kardashians would have a hard time keeping up. St. Mary’s collaborates with many agencies serving the health needs of Grand Valley residents. Many of those agencies receive United Way support. “That’s why St. Mary’s associates every year are eager to let the cameras roll on them as United Way pacesetters,” says Jon Pesta, co-chair of St. Mary’s United Way Pacesetter Campaign. “This year’s workplace campaign theme is Reality TV.”
St. Mary’s is one of a select group of local organizations who conducted workplace campaigns prior to the community wide United Way campaign. “St. Mary’s employees take their commitment to United Way seriously, and we sure have fun doing it,” says Carol Calacino, campaign co-chair. “At our United Way Agency Fair, employees learned about local agencies supported by the United Way—information that is useful for referring patients and family members who can benefit from services.”
“With the current economy affecting many local residents, help is needed more than ever,” says Pesta. “Every gift, large and small, helps because small victories lead to bigger wins. We encourage everyone to join us in the amazing race to help support our Mesa County neighbors.
