Grand Valley seniors are an active, inquisitive group. They do their research and go after what they want and need. “That’s why the annual Senior Fair is such a great local event, and why St. Mary’s will be there with the latest information about our services for seniors,” says Michael Herrick, director of Neuro-Musculoskeletal Services
at St. Mary’s.
Again this year, three members of St. Mary’s medical staff will be making special presentations on topics affecting the health of many seniors. “These physicians provide specialty care that’s not available elsewhere in the region,” Herrick says. “St. Mary’s works with the local medical community to make sure area residents can get the services they need without driving to Denver or Salt Lake City.”
The booths sponsored by St. Mary’s senior volunteer programs are always popular stops at the fair. Seniors who stay active and help others experience better physical and emotional health themselves. St. Mary’s Senior Companion, Gray Gourmet, and Foster Grandparent volunteers make new friends and some are eligible for a tax-free stipend.
