St. Mary’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center believes everyone deserves quality hospital care regardless of their ability to pay.
Based on your financial situation, you may be eligible for financial assistance with your hospital bill. When you have a procedure scheduled or are anticipating a hospitalization in the near future, call or visit a St. Mary’s financial counselor to see how we can help. Our goal is to help you concentrate on your recovery instead of on your bill.
We start with a simple screening
St. Mary’s financial counselors will do a short screening by phone or in our offices to see if you may qualify for a government program, discounts, or a payment plan. The counselor will ask questions about your household income, family size, and assets. Based on this initial screening, we may ask for more information and documentation and have you come in to meet with a counselor. If you are receiving ongoing treatment, such as dialysis or rehabilitation services, or if you return to St. Mary’s in the future for more care, your eligibility will be periodically reevaluated.
If you have no health insurance

If your initial screening shows you may be eligible for Medicare, Medicaid, the Colorado Indigent Care Program (CICP), Child Health Plan Plus, or other assistance, we will provide an application packet or contact information for the appropriate program.

We can arrange a payment plan that lets you pay any remaining balance in installments.
If you have health insurance
Even if you have health insurance, you may be responsible for part of your hospital bill. Speak to a financial counselor if you have concerns about paying your deductible, coinsurance, copayments,
or other remaining balance.

You may qualify for assistance from CICP even if you have Medicare or other health insurance.

We will explain your options for paying any balance left on your hospital bill after your insurance pays.

We can arrange a payment plan with a billing service that lets you pay your bill in installments. Short-term interest-free and longer-term payment options are available.
Payment plans apply to St. Mary’s services only. You will need to make other financial arrangements with physicians and other healthcare providers whose charges are separate from your hospital bill.
